Q: Do I have to sign a long term contract?

A: Some of the types of training available are: web-based interactive seminars (Webinars) and Video On Demand training. You will also have access to an online library of training documentation.

Q: I already have a tax office. How can I benefit from becoming a member of the National E-Tax Network?
A: As a member of our Network, you benefit from the support system we have developed (including software, tax preparer, technical, marketing and client support) over our years of experience in the tax services industry. That experience and support also extends to operational and information technology (IT) guidance to assist you in your success within Network.

Q: How much money can I make by joining the National E-Tax Network?
A: It would be ill-conceived on our part to even try to estimate how much more money you could make by joining the National E-Tax Network! However, with lower upfront costs and minimal ongoing costs to be part of the Network, we feel strongly that you will not only realize greater savings through your membership, but also gain access to tools and resources that are commonly available only in much larger organizations.

Q: How does membership with National E-Tax work?
A: You maintain your independence at all times. Your membership allows you to access a vast amount of resources that are typically only available to larger organizations. Membership is designed to help you operate at a lower cost and generate more business.

Q: Does National E-Tax provide Bank Products?
A: Yes. National E-Tax has partnered with several banks to provide select members with the ability to offer a wider range of services to their clients. We are currently working with our banks to ensure we provide the best products to the market. As we get closer to the tax season and we have selected the products and/or services we will provide to our clients, we will make that information available. However, each ERO must be able to meet standards set by our banking partners.

Q: What does it cost to become a Member of the National E-Tax Network?
A: Membership fees are based on the type of membership you choose for your organization. Unlike software developers or service bureaus, it is not our sole purpose to resell software. Instead, we want to help you expand your existing business, minimize your current operating costs and provide value added services that keep you competitive in the marketplace.

Q: Does the National E-Tax Network provide any marketing materials?
A: Yes. We make a wide variety of marketing materials available, including: templates for email and postcard/mailer production, store banners, posters, window stickers, radio and television commercials (some of these materials are available in Spanish). We can also help you with basic marketing techniques and recommend sales tools to help you market to your current and potential clientele.

Q: Does my business have to have an EFIN?
A: Yes. The IRS requires you to be authorized to electronically file tax returns with them. You can begin your registration by visiting the IRS website at http://www.irs.gov/ or ask us and we'll help guide you through the process.

Q: Do I have to be a licensed preparer?
A: No. But, pending IRS regulations will require every paid tax return preparer to have a Preparer’s Tax Identification Number (PTIN) that will be used to identify the specific preparer. National E-Tax will assist you with processing these applications.

Q: Do I need to know how to prepare taxes?
A: No. To participate in the E-Tax Licensee Program you do not need to be a tax expert or have any experience preparing taxes. The Software that we utilize is simple enough for any one in your organization to use and our Instructors will train you and your staff in tax knowledge and preparation.

Q: Will I receive support once I join the National E-Tax Network?
A: Yes. We offer many different forms of customer and technical support, including: software installation and setup; tax preparer support and toll-free customer support. Also, should questions arise; we have a highly trained, experienced group of support center staff waiting to answer questions from you, your staff and, if needed, your customers.

A: Subject to the volume of clients, your location(s), competitive landscape and many other external factors which will have an impact on your business, it is possible to generate sales upwards of $35,000 at one location in a short time frame (typically a 3-4 month period).

A: Most of the customers coming into your business on a daily basis will receive a tax refund check prepared by some other business. By leveraging the relationship you have already established with your customers and offering them the convenience of an added service (tax preparation), you stay competitive and you can increase your profits. You also have the potential to gain new customers through referrals given by your existing customer base.

Q: What does it cost to participate in the E-Tax Licensee Program?
A: Our goal is to help you expand your existing business, therefore your start up costs are kept to a minimum. By Utilizing the assets you already have access to (equipment and manpower), the minimum costs equate to the purchase price of a new computer or printer.

A: The minimum amount of equipment needed to begin is a fax machine, copy machine, laser printer and a computer with high speed internet connection. An email address is also required.

Q: Do I have to be registered with the IRS?
A: The IRS requires that every person or business who wants the privilege of electronically submitting (e-filing) returns to the IRS apply for and receive an Electronic Filing Identification Number (EFIN). A National E-Tax support team member will assist you in processing this application.

A: You will receive a Welcome Kit that will help in answering any general questions you may have and provide information about the E-Tax Satellite (Fax-In) Program. After receiving the kit, you could begin processing tax returns in a fairly short period of time (this includes time for training; equipment set up; review of materials to be used in our relationship; etc.).

Q: What does it cost to participate in the E-Tax Satellite (Fax-in) Program?
A: The fees associated with participating in the E-Tax Satellite Program are minimal; they are used to help us recover our initial investment in your start up costs. In fact when you "refer" a predetermined amount of clients, you qualify for a rebate of your membership fee.
